Little jail boy.

Today Paige and Nolan were playing in my ensuite bathroom while I folded laundry.  They would take turns standing inside the shower while the other one stood outside and looked in and hammered on the door with their fists.  At one point I heard Paige holler, "Come here you little jail boy!".

Me being the type of Mom I am- I used this as a teaching opportunity.  I asked her if she knew what people in jail were called and then explained that they were called "Inmates".  After a few questions she kept on playing.  A little while later I heard her call…
"Come over here Nolan, you little inmate!"

Catchin’ up with the kids…

I didn’t have a whole lot of interesting stuff to blog about so I thought that I would post a video clip of Nolan.  We are going to Alberta for a visit in a couple of weeks so this will give my family a sneek peek of the cuteness they’ll be experiencing for nearly 10 days!!

Did you know, Did you care??

I told you on wednesday about my computer going on strike.  I ended up having to reinstall my photoshop CS (fun times).  We also had to restore the computer back to the beginning of april when we formatted the hard drive.  I discovered today that my entire font collection (yes, the same one I spent 6 hours replenishing) was missing.  I didn’t realize that the fonts could disappear during a system restore.  You learn something new everyday.  I hate those kind of tedious, time consuming lessons though.
I did manage to find some new jazzy fonts and was itching to use them so I decided to do a new scrapbook page!!  I took some really cute shots of Nolan in the tub and they made the cutest little Layout.  See it in my folder at the bottom right or just click HERE.

I have a real thing for fonts- I collect them because you never know when you are going to use them… (yeah, right).  I also am a certified graphic sign artist- which means I’ve worked with Type and typesetting a lot, so it’s my nature to obsess over fonts.  Most of the fonts I have collected get tossed six months down the road because i realize that I’ve never used them and probably never will.  So I clean them out and collect new ones.  There are so many available for free it’s amazing.  I have acutally purchased a few too (that’s how deep the collecting need goes).   When you use just the right font in just the right project, the look can be amazing.  Most of the time Simple- is the best.

If you feel like you need a new font wardrobe, check out some of my favorite places to find cool fonts:
www.dafont.com  and www.fontface.com (click on the face) as well as, www.fontfreak.com and simplythebest.net/fonts/. Those two sites are so large it should take a fair amount of time to get through them- then I’ll introduce more. When your addicted like me. A lot of the fonts are duplicates on the sites, but every once in awhile you’ll find something different.
Have fun!
Check them out now, thank me later.

Mama needs a new shirt…

You know that it’s time to go out clothes shopping when your daughter’s friend asks her mom (my friend Laurie), "Why does Jenny always wear the same shirt?".
Gotta love kids and their honesty.
Oh ya, it’s time.
In my defence, I have 3 or 4 shirts in the same colour green and I’m not buying anything but work out clothing right now because I’m still wearing maternity clothing to the gym (can’t believe I just admitted that) and the work out wear I have right now is embarrassing (it’s half maternity wear- so, obviously)!   I want to get 10 more lbs down and then buy some new summer clothing.  That’s the plan anyway.

Note to self; No more green coloured T-shirts.

Easter Mornin’

101_1847This morning was full of Easter surprises.  Paige woke up and rushed downstairs only to come running back upstairs to tell me, "Mom the table is FULL of stuff!!".  Her eyes were as wide as saucers.  I loved it.  I was so excited last night I could barely go to sleep.  There is something about creating memories for my children that just gets me so happy and joyful.  Suzanne and I had planned on having an ‘in-house’ Easter egg hunt since there was an 80% chance of rain forecast.  But low and behold the sun was shining this morning and the first thing Paige did was run to the door to check for eggs in the grass (oops).  Elizabeth was also upset that the Easter bunny didn’t put out any eggs to hunt for.  So I took the kids over to Suz’s place to compare Easter loot while I ran back to spread eggs all over the grass outside our front doors.

I went rushing back over to Suz’s place and told the kids the Easter bunny had been outside while I went to get my camera and I didn’t even see him!!  They were beside themselves with excitement- I had to beg Paige to put shoes on before running outside…  Good times.

After The egg hunt it was time to get ready for breakfast.  We wanted to beat the church crowd, especially since we had the ’screaming Noo-noo’ (Also known as Nolan) with us.  No need to give extra folks a headache on Easter.  Despite my worry, all the kids were very well behaved and we had an absolutely wonderful breakfast.  I drank too much coffee and Made Suz take me for another coffee on the way home (I don’t know what’s wrong with me).  We sat back and watched a couple hours of HGTV while the kids played.  It was absolutely, utterly, and blissfully- wonderful.
Thanks to Suz for spending the day with us, it’s becoming a family tradition and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  Next year there will be another rug rat to add  to the fray, I can’t wait!!101_1894
I hope everyone out there in Blog land had a wonderful day regardless of wether or not you celebrate the holiday or not.

Take care and stay away from the chocolate (that was more of a warning for myself than any of you)…

What am I made of?

Suzanne tagged me with this- And I was too interested to NOT try it.  For those of you who know me, does this sound accurate??

Stability results were moderately low which suggests you are worrying, insecure, emotional, and anxious.

Orderliness
results were moderately high which suggests you are, at times, overly
organized, reliable, neat, and hard working at the expense of
flexibility, efficiency, spontaneity, and fun.

Extraversion
results were high which suggests you are overly talkative, outgoing,
sociable and interacting at the expense too often of developing your
own individual interests and internally based identity.

I don’t know about the ‘Orderliness’-  that doesn’t sound like me at all… Does it??
