Sorry for not being more prompt with the bloggin’ lately. The weather has not been permitting; it’s been too nice outside to be inside sitting at the ‘devil machine’. The words of wednesday are here without any Pomp or circumstance:
It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.
That is said with my hemmeroid of a neighbor in mind. Lord, have mercy on his demented soul. ‘Nuff said about that guy.
The Visit to Vancouver Children’s Hospital went wonderfully. The doctor didn’t even recognize Nolan at first because his head shape was too perfect. You see, most of the children you see in this particular building have quite visible problems and it makes them easy to point out (as well as makes you count your blessings) so Nolan caught the doctor off guard I imagine. They took all the appropriate measurements and felt his cranium, oohed and aawwed over his cute perfection… well maybe not quite that far but close. We had Xrays done for future reference and that was it! I took a few pictures *fixed the link* in the Radiology department as well as a photo of Nolan sitting (not willingly) with Dr. Steinbok. There are a few other photos from the trip to Vancouver from the ferry and Stanley Park. It was a hot day but it all turned out really well. I’m so relieved. Our next visit to the Hospital will be just before he starts school with this warning from Dr. Steinbok, "Don’t let anyone poke him with sharp pointed objects."
We are pretty good with that in general. He’s so funny.
Speaking of Pointed objects and Nolan’s cranium, he had a tumble tonight while sucking on his bottle and got a pressure cut on his lip. The poor little guy bled like a stuck pig for a few minutes and scared the bejeebus out of his big sister. She just cried and cried, "Oooooh My Nooooly!!". Poor girl, she sure loves her brother.
Suz took Paige while I cleaned Nolan and myself up to go to Emergency. By the time i got him clean and dressed the cut had stopped bleeding and didn’t look too bad. It’ll definitely leave a scar but they add character, no? That’s how you can tell my children from all the others in the ‘hood- the many facial scars.
What can I say, I’ve got clumbsy kids. But they’re mine and I love’em.
Have a great day All,
~jen
I couldn’t catch your pictures, Flickr’ kept coming up with my pictures….hummm…. but I am so glad that Nolan is doing so well…..and that was so cute when Paige said Oooooooooh my Nooooooooly….. it is funny how brothers and sisters can fight, but when they get hurt, or someone says something about them, they sure do stand up for them…..I’m so glad I had 4 kids, being an only child I only had my dog to talk too…..lol
The link doesn’t work for me either unless you guys are all asian tourists
What a relief that nolan’s head is fine and he won’t need another surgery. I can only imagine how happy you guys are.
Hey Guys,
I fixed the link with the photos… hope it works this time!
Horray for Nolan “The tropper” McE, Great report, even if he don’t like the Dr’s knee !!!
Hi Jen:-) Thanks so much for coming to visit my blog…I hope it won’t be your last one!! Of course I had to come and check out yours..yesterday and today I’ve been reading a lot of posts and I must say, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them all!! You children are adorable and looking at Nolan, you’d never think he’s gone through what he has already!! I have two brothers living in BC (one in Vancouver and one in Surrey) and I’ve been there twice. We once took the ferry from Nainaimo to Vancouver Island…been to Victoria too and loved it there!! Take care and hope you don’t mind if I come visit you again:-)
It’s not a “Devil Machine”…actually it would be the Devil if we never had a computer to use for some time.
At times it sure does use up a lot of spare time though, We must manage our puter time!!!
