around the corner…

Growing I went to a doctor appointment today (nothing big, just some prescription refills) and when I arrived at the office the door was locked and there was a small sign saying "We’ve moved!".  After examining the sign, the name of the new office building sounded terribly familiar so I drove up the street looking around.  As I got closer to my house I realized- WOW It’s so close I could have walked there!!  I’m so jazzed about that, mainly because I LOVE that particular doctor and I also love having my doctor and the hospital so close to my house.  I noticed that she has no art hanging up in her new office but it’s much more streamlined and sophisticated than her old office so I’m thinking of doing something up for her (no worries Deb- AFTER you).  Perhaps this will be the bribe I need get her to agree to be my family physician.

This after noon I am also heading to the dentist for a cleaning and a check up.  Fun times… I hate the dentist.  I’m okay with a cleaning but I also know that I will be heading for another root canal… that part, I’m not too fond of.  Oh well, such is the hazard of owning real teeth.

I should run, i need to change a butt before I head to the dentist.

Thanks to Mellissa Robinson for the nice artwork at the top… she’s awesome (http://www.flyinggirl.com/)

Okay, I’m back!!

Kteaguequotechfeb12gr

Okay, I am back… feeling so forlorn after two days without my beloved PC.  Ken felt that it wasn’t working up to it’s full potential so we took it in for some diagnostics.  We got it back today with a clean bill of health, and all my laundry is done.

I’m so happy.

Calgon, take me away…

I need to blog before Suz lashes me with a wet noodle…

What a week we’ve had!  Firstly, I was without the internet and most of my normal phone services, then we had a surprise visit from Ken’s very best friend Brad and his two lovely children, Eric and Sidney.  It’s been a whirlwind since they got here, but I do enjoy having them.  Check out the lovely photos in this slide show.

Now I can get back to my normal routine of taking care of two kids, fooling around on the computer and ignoring my household duties.  Well, after I put my house back together that is…

Feeling amputated

100_5118 Just an update for you folks out there, I am without the internet until next week.  It’s all about the phone company being ticked off that I’ve dropped my land line in favour of VOIP.  Which is far cheaper than the phone company could ever dream of being.  The thing is that my new phone provider uses the internet to transfer my calls (Voice over internet protocol) and without the internet I am also without a phone.

This has left me feeling like I’ve lost a couple limbs and my eyes have been poked out.  A little dramatic, but that is how I feel at the moment.  Right now I’m at Suz’s place borrowing her computer to write this (Thanks Suz!).  Words for Wednesday will have to wait until next week…

A few words for Sunday…

July It’s not of the wisdom variety but i have been meaning to blog with not much blogging time.  Tonight, I find myself with all children tucked in, my hair coloured (looks great) and still awake (thank you Diet pepsi).  Earlier this evening I completed another digiscrapbook page and I actually feel like starting a painting right now.  Yes, I said it- a REAL watercolor painting.  That means you, Deb, are coming up.  I’ll try and email you with a sketch but you know, the way I work, I may email you with a completed painting.  After waiting nearly a YEAR… I think you’ll be happy either way LOL!
I’m horrible like that.

Come and Get your words for wednesday.

I like this one- very simple and to the point. Don’t expect things to come to you, go out and get them. This one is definitely speaking to me right now. I hope you can take something out of it as well.

p.s.  I took the photo above at the local swim spot ‘Sway-a-lana lagoon’, the ball got away from some girls that were playing catch. I think it looks cool.

License to Grill…

Is anyone else’s hubby addicted to the ‘license to grill’ program on Food TV???

I just got home from getting a few groceries and as soon as I entered the house he was off, saying something about an amazing potato salad that he’d seen on license to grill.

This is going to be interesting… I’m usually quite pleasantly surprised.
Photos will soon follow I’m sure.

**Photo Update**

Here is the salad- it was absolutely DEEElish!  If you like Potato salad, hell, even if you don’t, you have to try this- it’s seriously killer.  Thank you Hubby!

Overtired dance of toddler drunkeness.

I took this video clip while my sister was visiting.  Since Aunty was visiting, the kids were up waaayyy past their already late bedtimes.  This opened the door for some late night dancing that I would equate to toddlers dancing on tables.  If Nolan could have gotten on a table unassisted, I’m sure you’d be seeing a video clip of that too.

This is hilarious.

R.I.P

My beloved T-fal, Avanti toaster has passed on to the toaster heavens this morning.  This makes me sad because the toaster was a gift from all the ladies in my course at CDI college for being such a great help to all of them on the computers.  Everytime I toasted something in it- I thought a happy fuzzy thought of that time. Giving of myself without a second thought and being rewarded for it, completely unexpectedly.

I remember walking into class after lunch and there was a gift wrapped box sitting on the table in my spot.  I walked up and made a grand statement "Did someone leave their package behind?" and everyone burst out laughing "It’s YOURS, Silly!!!".  That was a very special time for so many different reasons but seeing that toaster brings back all the good feelings.

Now the dang thing has kicked the bucket.  I’m thinking I’ll go and buy the exact toaster to replace it with… pretend it never died.

Good idea.

Vacation_quote

After today, hubby is on a two week vacation.  He sure looks like he could use a holiday in the photo.  I’d be lying to you if I said I wasn’t just a tiny bit excited.
