Ken and I watched another very interesting documentary last night called "Who Killed the Electric Car?".  All i have to say is WOW.  Once again I was left feeling cheated, sad, angry and very disgusted at the powers that be.  If you can find the film please go and rent it- it was very informative. But I’m not too discouraged after reading recent reports about the creation of some electric sports cars by a new start up company called ‘Tesla Motors’.  It’s so exciting and I’m glad someone is doing it!

Hello again!  I hope everyone had the best little Christmas ever, we sure did.  Things were very laid back and it felt good to get spoilt and not feel guilty about it. Now it’s back to business in blog land…

    Some of you may remember I mentioned the movie "An Inconvenient Truth", a few weeks ago.  Well, i read something disturbing today, and it’s got me thinking and doing.

If you haven’t seen the film, I highly recommend that you do, it’s a real eye opener and like the advertisement for the movie says, "by far the most terrifying movie you will ever see.".  Al Gore talks about Global warming, how it was spun as a myth when in fact none of the data documenting the onset of global warming was ever in doubt by the scientific community.  After watching the film and reading the newspapers with a new set of educated eyeballs, I KNOW it’s not a myth.  The earth is damaged, and we are doing it. 
Some of the ways I’ve started to ‘do my part’ (because everyone doing a little- equals a lot) are, purchasing recycled toilet tissue, sounds inconsequential but it’s not.  turning down the heat and wearing more clothes.  Turning off the lights and replacing the often used lights with compact fluorescent and perhaps in the future LED bulbs.  I don’t drive much as it is but when the weather permits I’m going to try and walk to more places instead of driving maybe even invest in a trailer for a bike that could hold the kids… I’ve also started recycling more whole heartedly, because that’s the easiest thing to do.

Anyway- here are some more ideas to try and do your part.  We’ve only got one planet and I’d prefer not to fry like an egg on it.

Suz invited Paige and I on a double date with her and her daughter Elizabeth.  We went to see the new kids movie- Curious George.  It was really cute and reminded me so much of the books i used to love as a kid.  The one thing about the movie that MADE it for me was the bloody awesome soundtrack.  All of the music was done by Jack Johnson and friends and it made me want to do a little dance right there in my seat.  When Paige had to use the washroom i was perturbed, not because i was going to miss part of the movie, but I was going to miss the great music that was playing!  Seriously!  Suz and i made a bee line for the first music store we came across and bought the soundtrack called "Sing-a-longs and Lullabies for the film Curious George.". It is all I’ve been listening to since.  It’s already on my ipod and i listened to it at the gym this morning even though lullabies aren’t exactly great music to sweat by. 
    Anyway, the movie is definitely a refreshing change from all of the computer animated films that have been coming out lately- not that "Robots" isn’t great too but I like to toss things up now and again.  We’ll definitely be buying this one.

Today has been a hectic day for me.  The kids are on a new trend of waking up at 7:30 in the morning.  This may be normal at your house but it’s definitely not NORMAL around here.  I feel like my head is going to explode and all i wanna do is have a nap.  Oh well, maybe i will in a minute.
    I booked a doctors appointment and was able to get one this morning (unheard of with my doc) so I also booked the kids with the childminding at the gym after the doc appointment hoping we’d be able to get there in time.  My doctor was running severely late, nothing new there.  Nolan was NOT impressed and was having a complete meltdown by the time I got into the office.  I got a refill for my happy pills that are still missing and wanted to show her the strange rash that has been appearing all over my body and itching so badly i can barely sleep at night.
    Trying to hold Noly in one arm and pull up my shirt with the other was not my idea of a good time.  Anyway, she sent me to a dermatologist, whom i will see on the 20th of MARCH.  i hope i have skin left by that time, I’m really itchy.  I don’t think she understood my desperation.  Oh well… I’ll just buy a couple more tubes of cortisone cream to get me by.
    We got to the gym in time I’m happy to report and I had a lovely work out.
Then I walked in the door to the phone ringing.  It was the doctor’s office letting me know that I forgot my cell phone there.  Poo.

I should run along- I think my pillow is calling, I’ll have to tell the laundry to ‘keep it down ‘while I nap, its just going to have to wait…

Ken and I just came back from seeing ‘Walk the line" The Johnny Cash Biopic.  Really, really, great movie.  I LOVED "Ray" and this one is right beside it at the top of the list.  After the first 15 minutes of the movie you actually forget that you are watching Joaquin Pheonix and not the real Johnny Cash.  J.P. even sang all of the parts himself as did Reese Witherspoon.  I would venture to say Reese sang better than June Carter ever did- but who am i to judge??  It was a great movie.

now I’m Home, I’ve got my kids all tucked in.  Taken all my meds.  I’m quite alert and craving a nice creamy coffee.
I think I’ll drink another large glass of water and hit the sack.  Or try to.
