I don’t normally watch programs like this but I happened to catch it the other night while Ken was watching it. America’s Got Talent. I caught a fella named Cas Haley singing a track originally done by The Police. All i have to say is WOW. When ever he comes out with an album, I’ll be the first person on iTunes to download it. Check him out for yourself:

The other day i was doing my usual aimless wandering through the Internet when I came upon the most charming photography website. If you have speakers, turn them up. Do you recognize that song? If you were a child in the 70s and early 80s and you watched Sesame Street you probably do. It’s called ‘Ladybug Picnic’, and this is the original clip from Sesame street that I remember so well:
When I clicked upon Jinky’s site and that song played it made me so happy. A happiness I could feel in each strand of my hair and in every single toenail. There aren’t too many things (besides my kids) that bring that kind of feeling out in me… it’s awesome. While browsing youtube I also found this clip which is the only other song from the original Sesame street that I remember:
By the way the newer version of ‘Ladybug Picnic" is by a gal named Elizabeth Mitchell and it’s available on her website. I purchased one of her albums (You are my Sunshine) through iTunes and it was only 9.99 (or .99 per track), such a great deal, and the songs are so precious. There are a few audio clips available to preview on her website as well (in case you like to listen before you buy). If you’ve got kids that like music and you are sick of Barney tapes… you gotta go and take a listen.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my flashback for the day. I’m going to go and rest my weary head.
Next blog… I’m going to try and have some ART to show and tell.
I know, it’s exciting isn’t it??

The day went well! We arrived early for the show so Paige and Elizabeth were able to secure great spots for the show. The Doodlebops made a fashionable and LATE appearance, which is not cool when dealing with a crowd of incredibly hyped preschoolers. Once the show started everything was OK and Paige made her dad and I proud by rushing the stage like a true rock fan in training. Elizabeth even made me smile by getting down and jiggy with every single song!! After the show we managed to lose Paige in the shuffle of the crowd and found her pulling on Deedee’s dress (virtually, she was parked that close). Deedee quickly whipped Paige up in her arms and Ken was able to get a shot. Elizabeth was able to meet Moe on the other side of the stage, he was a super nice guy too! The entire show lasted 20 minutes (yes, read my type, twenty minutes) but it’s something I will remember for a long time. Paige’s first brush with celebrity.
So cool.

P.s. as always, there are more pictures in flickr, I’ve added "notes" to a couple of them so click on the shots and the run your cursor over the picture to see the note squares.
